About Me

Dyertribe is a personal blog on data and cloud security, public/private cloud, virtualisation (normally VMware), data storage and containers maintained by me – Nick Dyer. I chose the name as my personality is very much British satirical in nature, and the last thing anyone should do in the IT Industry is take themselves seriously 😀

Short introduction used on other sites like linkedin:

I am versatile & highly motivated Principal Systems/Sales Engineer focusing on public cloud, data security, enterprise datacentre virtualisation & hyper-convergence (HCI) and flash storage – residing in the South East of England. I’ve worked for 3 different storage/networking startups (Nimble Storage, Xsigo Systems and EqualLogic) – all of which have been acquired – as well as the “Tier 1” vendors such as IBM, HPE and Dell.

In 2021 I decided to pivot my career into public cloud and data/cloud security by joining Arctic Wolf – the leader in Managed Security Operations, and helping build out the organisation in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

I’ve got a few certs, have a “Desmond” degree (2:2) and spend far too much time on YouTube.
